Inactive subscribers affect your pricing plan and skew campaign data. Use this template to win back unengaged subscribers and unsubscribe inactive ones. Automatically deliver a re-engagement campaign and mark whether subscribers engage. Then automatically move them to the unsubscribed folder if they don’t.
Start this workflow with a re-engagement email that has an irresistible subject line to capture readers’ attention. For example, “We miss you, {$name}, so here’s 20% off your next order!” Remind them why they shopped from you in the first place by emphasizing what they can achieve with your products and why it would bring them joy.
Go to the Automation page and click New automation
Select the Win back inactive subscribers template
Select a custom field (e.g inactive subscriber) for your Updated field* trigger containing value Yes
Click on the Email step, and give it a subject line that will grab the subscriber’s attention
Click Design email and build your re-engagement email from scratch or use a pre-existing template. When you’re finished with the design, click Done editing
Below you will see a Condition step. On the Yes path, select the Action step. Choose the action: Update custom field** and enter the value: No
On the No path, select the Email step, give it a name that explains that it’s their last chance for a discount, and click on Design email. Once you’re done creating the email, click Done editing
Save the step and turn ON your workflow
If a subscriber engages with your “last chance” email, they will be marked as engaged. If they don’t engage with the final email they’ll be moved to your unsubscribed list.
Note: You can edit the workflow and use the trigger When a subscriber joins a group if you create a group for inactive subscribers. You can then use the Action steps to remove subscribers from that group.
This is just one great example of how you can use this template. You can edit this template as much as you want to make it work for you. The sky is the limit!
