This advanced template allows you to use multiple channels like a signup form or a landing page to trigger the same workflow. All new subscribers will receive the same welcome campaign. Then you can automatically update custom fields based on engagement, and move the less engaged ones to a specific group for further nurturing.
This workflow uses multiple triggers, a feature available on any Advanced plan. Multiple triggers allow you to create up to 3 ways for subscribers to enter the workflow.
Go to the Automation page and click New automation
Select the Online course template
Choose a group for the When a subscriber joins a group trigger and select 2 forms for both When a subscriber completes a form triggers
Click the first Email step and design a welcome email for your new subscribers. Give it a subject line and click on Design email. Once you’re done creating the email, click Done editing
Use the second Email step to send a discovery email, where subscribers can choose their preferences
Below you’ll see a Condition step set to Workflow activity, email #2, Had any link clicked*
On the Yes path, add an Action step and update a custom field (e.g. active subscriber) with value Yes
Then click the following Email step, give it a name and subject line, then click on Design email. Once you’re done creating the email, click Done editing
On the No path, click the Email step, add a subject line and click on Design email. Once you’re done creating the email, click Done editing
Continuing down the No path, you’ll see another Condition step set to Workflow activity, email #4, and Had any specific link clicked*
On the Yes path of that second Condition, Click the Action step and set it up to update the custom field (e.g. active subscriber) with value Yes
Then click the following Email step and design a new email. Once you’re done creating the email, click Done editing
On the No path of that second Condition, click the Action and choose a group (e.g. inactive subscribers) for the Move to a group action
Save the step and turn ON your workflow
Note: You can also use another set of multiple triggers
*You could also edit the Condition step and use Had any link clicked instead
